Our Team

Mickey J. Smith is the managing partner of SmithReed and leads the planning, management, and research review of all client programs. He, along with other team members, conducts regular reviews of asset managers, mutual funds, and individual stocks and bonds for inclusion in client portfolios. In addition Mr. Smith participates in the NASD arbitration process on behalf of investors seeking financial recovery.
Prior to founding SmithReed, Mr. Smith was a Limited Partner at Edward Jones and also guided the formation, funding, and sale of multiple start-ups including OSA Agricultural Services, GearPro, and Twin States Broadcasting among others. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University.
In the past Mr. Smith has served as president of the Obion County United Way and president of Poplar Meadows Country Club. He currently serves on the Boards of the Obion County Community Foundation, the Junior Tornado Football League, and is a member of the Union City Planning and Zoning Commission.

H. Ruth Davis has served as a financial consultant since January 1998. In addition to working with clients to establish goals and investment strategies, Mrs. Davis reviews asset managers, mutual funds, and individual stocks and bonds for inclusion in client portfolios.
Mrs. Davis' extensive background in the securities industry includes thirty-one years with Edward Jones - including over twenty years as a Limited Partner. She worked with John R. Reed from 1967 to 1988 and holds Series 7, 31, and 63 securities licenses with LPL Financial.

Pamela B. Smith has served as accounting manager since January 1998 and is the granddaughter of John R. Reed. Mrs. Smith manages the work flow for client tax preparation as well as development of human resource policies and procedures. Previously she assisted her husband in establishing his branch office in Martin, Tennessee. Mrs. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Mrs. Smith is the proud mother of three children, serves on the Board of Directors of the Union City Schools Foundation, and is a member of the Parent Teacher Organization. |

David M. Waycaster has provided tax advice and prepared returns for SmithReed clients since 2001. Mr. Waycaster assists in the planning process by assessing clients' tax situation and providing strategies that help minimize any liability.
Prior to joining SmithReed, Mr. Waycaster served as executive vice president of sales for Office Outfitters, Inc. from 1990 through 2001. Previously he served as controller from 1987 to 1990 with Martin Manufacturing, and as senior accountant with Reese & Nanney, CPAs from 1982 to 1987. Mr. Waycaster holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from The University of Tennessee at Martin and a Masters of Business Administration from Murray State University. Mr. Waycaster is also a Certified Public Accountant in the states of Kentucky and Tennessee.
